Monthly Performance Report

August 2026

Website and search performance across padium.com for August 2026, compared against July 2026 and August 2025. Covers both Padium venues, Canary Wharf and Cardiff.

What this is telling you Sessions held roughly steady on July (-2.7%) and are up strongly year on year (+36.9%), a solid month overall. But engagement quality slipped across the board, engagement rate down 6.1% MoM, time on site down 21.5%, and this lines up with a real data-quality issue worth flagging: a landing page value of "(not set)" accounted for 1,188 sessions this month with a 3.5% engagement rate, almost certainly bot or low-quality automated traffic rather than real visitors. This is covered in Section 2 and flagged as a Watch Point in Section 10, and likely explains most of this month's engagement dip.

2. Traffic by Channel

2.1 Sessions, Users & Engagement by Channel

Cross-network50+13.6% (44)+117.4% (23)4992.0%
What this is telling you The Unassigned channel's engagement rate has collapsed to just 1.3%, essentially nobody in this segment is engaging with the site, while its session count jumped 85% on July and 401% on last August. This is a strong signal of bot or spam traffic being categorised as Unassigned rather than a real audience, and it lines up with the "(not set)" landing page issue flagged in Section 1. Worth a technical review of traffic sources before trusting this month's session total at face value. Paid Search and Organic Search both eased back slightly on July but remain a strong combined base.

2.2 Referral Source Breakdown

All other referral sources4730–
What this is telling you linktr.ee held its position as the top referral source for the third month running, a genuinely reliable, recurring channel now. A new source, mossys-stag-26.netlify.app, appeared with a low 25% engagement rate, worth a quick look at what this link is and whether the traffic quality is worth pursuing.

2.3 New vs Returning Users

MonthNew UsersNew %Returning UsersReturning %
August 202612,18188.8%1,54011.2%
July 202614,30893.0%1,0807.0%
August 20259,43990.5%9909.5%
What this is telling you Returning users grew strongly both against July (+42.6%) and last August (+55.6%), and now make up over 11% of all users, the highest share all year. A genuinely positive sign of people coming back to the site, worth noting this sits alongside the data-quality concern above, so it's worth confirming this growth is real repeat visitors and not an artefact of the same traffic issue.

3. Landing Pages & Engagement

Top landing pages by sessions, August 2026. A landing page value of "(not set)" recorded 1,188 sessions this month with a 3.5% engagement rate, almost certainly low-quality automated traffic (see Section 1), and has been excluded from this table as it doesn't represent a real page people are landing on.

The gift card page (/product/gift-card) recorded only 2 sessions this month and no order data is available, see Section 7 for detail.

What this is telling you Six new Stories articles are already generating direct landing traffic in their first weeks live, on top of the four from July. Individual story performance is broken out fully in Section 8. Engagement rate on /about (34.1%) and /on-court (50.0%) stand out as unusually low for pages this high up the list, worth a look at whether these pages need attention, separate from the bot traffic issue affecting Unassigned/(not set).

4. Search Console Performance

What this is telling you Impressions grew for the second month running, up 3.0% on July, while clicks fell slightly, a continuation of the pattern where visibility is stabilising but not yet translating fully into clicks. Both remain far below August last year, though average position is dramatically better (5.9 vs 11.0), the site ranks much higher for a smaller pool of impressions than it did twelve months ago.

What this is telling you Branded clicks grew for the second consecutive month, up 19.5% on July and 28.9% on last August, now 33.6% of all clicks, the highest share since April. Non-branded fell on both comparisons. Brand recognition is clearly building steadily even while generic search terms soften.

4.5 Page Performance

Top pages by clicks, August 2026. As this is the same traffic split across two domain versions of the site, clicks for the same page have been combined into one line per page.

What this is telling you Stories now earns more combined clicks (62) than /events, /contact, or /on-court individually, a strong showing for content that's had at most six weeks live. Homepage clicks recovered slightly again, up from 5,825 in June to 6,311 now, two months of gentle improvement after the spring's steep decline.

5. Core Services Performance

Traffic landing directly on each core service page. The current site groups Academy, Private Coaching and Socials under one On Court page, so these are reported together rather than split further.

Gift CardsNo data–––

*On Court was previously named "What's On" on the site, and moved to /on-court in July. The old /whats-on URL recorded no sessions this month, all traffic is now on the new page. Gift Cards: no order export was supplied this month and the page itself recorded only 2 sessions, likely not yet live on the new site, see Section 7.

What this is telling you On Court had an exceptional month, sessions up 140.8% on July and over 8 times last August, clearly the standout growth story this table. Its engagement rate (50.0%) is still on the low side though, so this is more people arriving than people staying engaged, worth a look at the page itself. Canary Wharf venue sessions also grew strongly (+37.7%), while Cardiff stayed roughly flat.

6. Venue Performance

Note: Canary Wharf and Cardiff still don't exist as separate landing page URLs in the site's August 2025 data, so no YoY comparison is available for either venue this month either.

Canary Wharf91021.2%53.7%2m 56s
What this is telling you Canary Wharf continued the momentum from July, up another 37.7% and now representing over a fifth of combined venue traffic, its strongest share all year. Its engagement rate (53.7%) is well below Cardiff's (77.9%) though, worth understanding whether the extra volume is bringing in a different, less engaged type of visitor.

7. Gift Cards

No data this month The gift card page (/product/gift-card) recorded only 2 sessions in August, and no order export was supplied. This suggests gift card functionality isn't yet live or populated on the new site. Traffic, channel attribution, and ecommerce figures are all reported as "No data" below rather than estimated. This section should return to normal once the new site's gift card page and order tracking are confirmed live.

What this is telling you Stories now generates 567 total sessions across the hub and all ten articles, up sharply from July's 255, and it's already earning more Search Console clicks than several established pages (Section 4.5). "10 Essential Padel Tips" remains the strongest performer overall, but "Padel Court Dimensions" had a very strong debut, straight in at number two both this month and all-time despite launching partway through August. Publishing cadence looks to be accelerating, six new pieces this month versus four at launch, worth keeping an eye on whether quality holds as volume increases.

9. Booking Conversion Clicks

Outbound clicks to each venue's booking app. Canary Wharf's link was already fully in place by August 2025, so this month has a clean YoY comparison; Cardiff's link still didn't exist a year ago.

What this is telling you Canary Wharf clicks fell 18.5% on July's exceptional month but are still slightly ahead of last August, that clean YoY comparison confirms July really was the outlier, not a new baseline. Cardiff held steadier, down just 5.4%. Notably, /on-court is now a meaningful driver of booking clicks at both venues (830 at Canary Wharf, 464 at Cardiff), consistent with its strong session growth in Section 5.

10. Insights & Key Takeaways

Growth Insights

On Court had an exceptional month, sessions up 140.8% on July and over 8 times last August. Clearly the standout number in this report, worth understanding what's driving it so it can be sustained.
Sessions are up 36.9% year on year despite this month's data-quality concerns, and Canary Wharf's booking link now has a genuine, clean YoY comparison for the second month running, up 1.3% on last August.
Branded search climbed for the second consecutive month, now 33.6% of all clicks, its highest share since April, and Stories is already outperforming several established pages in Search Console.

Opportunities

/on-court is now generating meaningful booking clicks at both venues (830 at Canary Wharf, 464 at Cardiff) on top of its own huge traffic growth. Worth featuring or promoting this page further while its momentum is strong.
Stories publishing cadence accelerated sharply this month, six new articles versus four at launch, and total Stories traffic more than doubled (255 to 567 sessions). Worth deciding whether this pace is sustainable and planning content a few months ahead.
Canary Wharf's engagement rate (53.7%) lags well behind Cardiff's (77.9%) despite similar traffic growth. If Canary Wharf's engagement can be brought closer to Cardiff's level, the venue's strong session growth could convert into real business impact more effectively.

Watch Points

A landing page value of "(not set)" recorded 1,188 sessions this month with a 3.5% engagement rate, and the Unassigned channel's engagement rate collapsed to 1.3%. This strongly suggests bot or low-quality automated traffic, and likely explains most of this month's drop in overall engagement rate and time on site. Worth a technical review before trusting headline traffic figures at face value next month.
On Court's engagement rate sits at just 50.0% despite its huge traffic surge, essentially unchanged from July's 45.0%. The page is pulling in far more visitors without yet converting that into meaningful engagement, worth a proper review of the page itself.
Gift cards have no data to report this month, no order export and almost no traffic to the page itself. This needs resolving, either by restoring the CSV process or confirming the new site's gift card tracking, before it becomes a longer gap in the yearly picture.

11. Year to Date (Jan – Aug 2026)

These charts will accumulate through the year, adding a new data point each month, and reset every January.

Graph 1 — Sessions & Total Users

GA4, all channels combined
Standout Sessions have now held roughly steady for two months after July's rebound, a much calmer pattern than the sharp swings seen from March through June.

Graph 2 — Venue Page Sessions: Canary Wharf vs Cardiff

GA4 landing page sessions
Standout Canary Wharf has now grown for two consecutive months, its longest growth streak of the year, while Cardiff has essentially plateaued since June.

Graph 3 — Traffic by Channel

GA4 sessions by channel
Standout Paid Search overtook Organic Search for the first time this year in August, a full reversal from January when Organic Search led by more than 4 to 1.

Graph 4 — Branded vs Non-Branded Search Queries

Google Search Console, clicks
Standout Branded clicks have now grown for two straight months while non-branded keeps falling, the gap between the two lines has narrowed every month since June.

Graph 5 — Gift Card Page Traffic & Order Revenue

Traffic to gift card page (bars, left axis) vs order revenue (line, right axis). Order count labelled above each point.
Standout No data for August, the gift card page recorded almost no traffic and no order export was supplied this month. This gap is visible in the chart rather than filled in, and should close once gift card tracking is confirmed live on the new site.
